Preparing to leave Ensenada

Leaving Ensenada

Salon with table stowed on bulkhead

Galley on port side of boat, top opening refrigerator is next to the bulkhead dividing the salon/galley area from the enclosed head.

Cabin looking towards v-berth
After I took this photo, I added two foot pumps, one for the galley sink shown in this photo, and a second for the sink in the head.  The water system consists of portable tanks that can be stored under the v-berth or the salon seat, and easily taken ashore for re-filling at "agua purificada" stores.  There are 6 f-gallon blue tanks like the one shown in the photo, stowed under the v-berth, with one in use behind the door shown at the bottom left.  There are 4 4-gallon tanks for water to the sink in the head; 3 are stored under the salon seat on the starboard side and one in use fits behind the regrigerator.  Tap water is not potable in most of Mexico, so this system of portable tanks is more practical than permanent tank installations for water.  Lower right corner of the photo shows the door providing access to the 5-gallon tank now linked to a foot pump.  Refrigerator (12V only) is located just aft of that door.  The enclosed head is located just aft of the refrigerator, with sink, counter, and manual head with Y-valve (waste can be sent overboard or into a holding tank).

Photo shows a butane cooker I used to cook the lobsters, but there is a 2-burner propane cooker mounted to the right of where the Coleman butane cooker is sitting, plus a magnetic induction cooker for use when in a marina with shorepower.
